Board of Directors, Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, 2006-14. President, Maryland Association of Counties, 2013 (legislative committee, 2006-14; board of directors, 2007-14; 2nd vice-president, 2011, 2012; education subcommittee, 2011-14). Past member, Somerset County Democratic Central Committee. Past chair, Eastern Shore Democratic Central Committees. Special Friend of MAC Award, Maintaining Active Citizens (MAC) Agency, 2012. Member, Asbury United Methodist Church, Allen, Maryland (board of trustees). Married; two children.
