Admitted to Maryland Bar (disbarred Jan. 27, 2012); District of Columbia Bar, 1981 (administratively suspended, 2002). Board of Directors, Maryland State's Attorneys' Association. Member, National Bar Association, 1995-. Member, National District Attorneys Association, 1995-; National Black Prosecutors Association, 1995-; International Association of Police Chiefs, 1995-. Presidential Award, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Patriot Award, U.S. Army. Married; three children, one grandchild.

On May 17, 2011, Mr. Johnson pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to charges of extortion, and witness and evidence tampering. On December 6, 2011, he was sentenced to 87 months (7 years & 3 months) in federal prison, with three-years supervised release, and a $100,000 fine.

Mr. Johnson began serving his term on February 18, 2012 at the Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, North Carolina.
