Chair, Committee on Legislative Information Needs, National Legislative Conference, 1974.

Member, Charter Board, Howard County, 1966-68. Chair, Planning Commission, Howard County, 1968.

Member, County Council, Howard County, 1968-70.

Born in Sprott, Alabama, November 27, 1930. Attended Alabama public schools. Served in U.S. Army Signal Corps. University of Alabama, A.B. (political science & history), 1957; The American University, M.A. (public administration), 1967. Manager of data processing and computing business. Economic development manager, Middle South Utilities, Inc., New Orleans, 1986. Director, Regional Economic Development, Energy Corporation of Louisiana. Former contract employee, Mendez England and Associates. President, Maryland Association of Counties, 1986. Member, American Political Science Association; Academy of Political and Social Sciences; American Association for Advancement of Science; Urban Regional Information Systems Association. Member, Southern Growth Policy Board, representing Alabama. Member, Optimist International. Married; five children, twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Died in Maplesville, Alabama, December 8, 2015.
