Born in Cambridge, Maryland, May 23, 1953. Attended Dorchester County public schools; North Dorchester High School. Member, Volunteer Fire Department, East New Market, 1969-; Maryland Sheriffs' Association, 2002-. President, Maryland Sheriffs' Institute, 2007-08 (vice-president, 2006-07). Charter member, North Dorchester Jaycees. Married, two children, two grandchildren.
