CHEMICAL STOCKPILE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency. Program abolished in March 2005 after elimination of chemical weapons stockpile stored at Aberdeen.

DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS BRANCH
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, established in 1999. Renamed Domestic Preparedness and Law Enforcement Liaison in 2007, Domestic Preparedness in 2008.

Abolished in 2008.

EXERCISE & TRAINING PROGRAM
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Operations, renamed Active Learning and Exercising in 2012.

58TH BATTLEFIELD SURVEILLANCE BRIGADE
Formerly under 29th Infantry Division (Light) - Support, reorganized as 58th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade under 58th Troop Command.

GARRETT COUNTY ARMORY
In Oakland, Brig. Gen. Otho Holland Williams Armory renamed Brig. Gen. Otho Holland Williams Readiness Center.

GARRETT COUNTY READINESS CENTER
In Oakland, Brig. Gen. Otho Holland Williams Readiness Center, 14 North 8th St., transferred to Town of Oakland, Nov. 3, 2004.

INFANTRY, 58TH BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM
Under Maryland Army National Guard, renamed 58th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade in Sept. 2010.

KENT COUNTY ARMORY
In Chestertown, SFC John H. Newman Armory renamed SFC John H. Newman Readiness Center.

KENT COUNTY READINESS CENTER
In Chestertown, SFC John H. Newman Readiness Center, 509 Cross St., sold to Town of Chestertown, Dec. 13, 2012.

LOGISTICS DIRECTORATE
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Logistics Directorate started as Budget, Fiscal and Logistics Division. Division became Personnel, Fiscal and Logistics in 2002, and was restructured as Logistics Directorate in 2004.

Abolished in 2007.

MARYLAND RADIOLOGIC FACILITY
At Middle River, the Facility (a laboratory for instrument calibration) closed on Oct. 1, 1997.

MARYLAND TERRORISM FORUM
Donald M. (Doc) Lumpkins, State Domestic Preparedness Officer

To coordinate defense against a terrorist attack, Governor created Maryland Terrorism Forum in 1998. Members of Forum represented those federal, State and local agencies responsible for preparing, responding and recovering from terrorist attack. Forum worked through committees to develop policies and manage efforts to improve defense.

In Dec. 2003, Forum was disbanded, and its functions assumed by Emergency Management Advisory Council.

OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY
Within Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Office of Technology formed in Sept. 2002; renamed Technical Support Directorate in Sept. 2004.

OPERATIONS
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Operations Directorate, abolished in 2009.

OPERATIONS DIVISION
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, renamed Readiness Division in Sept. 2002.

PERSONNEL, FISCAL & LOGISTICS DIVISION
Within Maryland Emergency Management Agency, renamed Logistics Directorate in Sept. 2004.

PLANNING
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Operations, renamed Adaptive Planning in 2012.

PLANS DIRECTORATE
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, abolished in 2005.

PREPAREDNESS
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Operations Directorate, abolished in 2009. Reformed as Preparedness directorate in 2012. Renamed Strategy Directorate in March 2016.

READINESS DIVISION
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, renamed Operations Directorate in Sept. 2004.

RESILIENCE & PUBLIC OUTREACH
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Preparedness, renamed External Outreach in 2014.

SOMERSET COUNTY ARMORY
In Crisfield, Maj. Gen. Maurice D. Tawes Armory renamed Maj. Gen. Maurice D. Tawes Readiness Center.

SOMERSET COUNTY READINESS CENTER
In Crisfield, Maj. Gen. Maurice D. Tawes Readiness Center sold to City of Crisfield, Sept. 11, 2013.

STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Strategic Initiatives formed in 2012. It directed and monitored implementation of Agency's strategic plan for emergency management. To measure progress toward its goals, office developed a "MEMA-stat" process to coordinate data-gathering with Governor's
StateStat Office. Strategic Initiatives also developed legislative initiatives to support mission and vision of Agency.

Functions transferred to Chief of Staff in May 2015.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT DIRECTORATE
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, renamed Technology Support in 2008.

TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Technology Support was created as Office of Technology in 2002. It reformed as Technical Support Directorate in Sept. 2004, and became Technology Support under Administration in 2008.

Functions provided by Department of Information Technology since 2014.

WATCH TEAM BRANCH
Under Maryland Emergency Management Agency, renamed Maryland Joint Operations Center in 2004.
